How they got here
Welcome to MCM! We’re delighted to share our journey and passion for education with you.
About Us
MCM (MidCoast Munchkins) is the latest chapter in a rich history of nurturing young minds. Our story began in 2012 with Mountain Munchkins, a cherished daycare nestled in the beautiful Lake Tahoe region. Over eight wonderful years, we fostered a love for learning and nature in our community’s children. In 2020, we relocated to be closer to family on the East Coast and reimagined our vision for early childhood education with MidCoast Munchkins.
Having witnessed firsthand the transformative power of nature-based learning, we believe that children thrive best when they’re engaged with their environment. After experiencing public school with our own children, we recognized that long school days are not necessary for young learners. This realization sparked our commitment to creating a balanced, enriching homeschool experience that combines the best of both worlds: structured learning and the freedom to explore the natural world.
